Well, it's been a busy May & early June! The lambs and garden are growing and now it's washing, sorting, & carding wool, & weeding time.

Our two red ram lambs
The sister missionaries came to help shear the last of the sheep. Mid May everyone is finally done!
Not the prettiest of haircuts...
In May our oldest son at home took his girlfriend to mormon prom. For a kid who spends most of his free time in the barn, he cleans up pretty well. ;-)
Started a few sewing projects this last month... a toille apron already being put to work!
My husband and I took a trip out to Kent Island Maryland and I used it to kick off some summer folk art gourd paintings..
Oceans scenes with sheep...couldn't have a more favorite subject!
My sweetheart!
In April our youngest son was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a wonderful day!
Happily our ducks have started laying eggs... this monster is from a duck who lays double yolked eggs! In comparison here with an XL egg from one of our hens.
Salad greens! Finally something growing in the garden! :)
All the lambs are getting big and their wool is starting to lighten up.
Horses taking a nibble from the tree
Dagny our herd dog, starting to lose her puppy look.
After the longest and coldest winter of my lifetime, it is finally shire-like green in Virginia! :)
Happy ducks!
Chessie
Stinker hen scratching up corn I just planted... grrr!
Garden plot, heirloom veges just starting to grow! Yes, I weed in pearls sometimes...
The gardening dress is not complete without a pair of work boots... ;-)
First of the wool spun, washed and hung to dry! I will soon measure it and hope to put it up for sale. This is a rustic Tunis wool that has some vegetable matter in it, but it's still a beautiful yarn!
More duck & chicken eggs... can you spot the double yolker?
Burned some brush during a Memorial Day bonfire in the pasture... my son chillin with a kitty
Watching from the balcony
We had a literal fireside with the missionaries :)
Views from the Woodstock tower of FT Valley VA
Shenandoah Valley...this is a view of the 7 bends of the Shenandoah River, which you can only see in the fall & winter. ;-) It's so beautiful here...so green and lush! (and humid!)
Some of the family on the tower
My husband riding Chessie bareback. She's such a pretty horse!
Our 9 yr old on Mr Baxter. He shines in the summertime!
One of the future mousers in our barn.
Friend of the family wins the award for most creative spun wool costume... ;-) The granny sheik.
My daughter & I dressed up for church.
Horseback riding...it's so green, it's unreal for someone raised in the mountain west.
Heirloom veges, finally kicking off! Early June and it's so hot the sun is wilting Kale leaves in the afternoon.
Glass gem corn. These are amazing beautiful and fun to grow! I have seeds available. :)
